The 1975 frontman Matty Healy and model, musician, and actress Gabbriette Bechtel are married. The couple tied the knot Saturday evening, July 18, at Castillo del Lago, the Spanish Colonial Revival mansion in the Hollywood Hills once owned by Madonna. The property, built in 1926 near the Hollywood Sign, has its own strange footnote in pop culture history: it once served as a filming location for the 1963 horror film House of the Damned.

Healy kept his look classic in a black tuxedo. Gabbriette wore a white gown, her hair styled half-up with a long veil pinned in. After exchanging vows in the mansion's backyard, Healy dipped his new wife for a kiss as photographers captured the moment before the couple moved on to their reception.

From New York Fashion Week to the Aisle

Healy and Gabbriette were first linked in September 2023, when they were photographed kissing in New York during Fashion Week. Speculation about a Matty Healy wedding built for months before Gabbriette settled the question herself, posting a photo in June of a black diamond ring on her left hand. Healy soon reshared the post, effectively confirming the news himself.

Healy's mother, television personality Denise Welch, later gave the engagement its most personal seal of approval on her UK talk show Loose Women, saying she had known for weeks and calling Gabbriette "everything I would want in a daughter-in-law." She also shared a detail that gave the proposal its own bit of romance: Healy reportedly had the black diamond ring custom made for her.

The Matty Healy Wedding Rehearsal Was Fit for the Tabloids

The wedding weekend started a night early, and paparazzi were there for it. On Friday, the couple was photographed rehearsing their ceremony, including a practice run of the dip-kiss they'd later perform for real. Healy wore black for the occasion, while Gabbriette's black coat only partially concealed the white gown underneath. The pair left the rehearsal in a black Rolls-Royce convertible, with Healy behind the wheel, before heading to the West Hollywood staple Rainbow Bar & Grill to celebrate with friends.
