There's a moment that happens with certain songs. You're not really listening — you've got it on in the background, you've heard it a hundred times — and then something shifts. A lyric lands differently. A chord change catches you off guard. Suddenly, you're somewhere else entirely, or more honestly, somewhere you've been avoiding.

 

That's what this space is about.

 

The Listening Room started because [I needed somewhere to put all of it / I couldn't stop writing about music / I kept having conversations about albums that I didn't want to end]. Not the charts. Not the discourse. The actual experience of sitting with a record and letting it do something to you.
