In February 2026, AJ Mitchell marked his return to music with a new single called "Try Again," a piano-led track that leans into vocal sincerity and emotional clarity. The song centers on the idea of giving a relationship another shot, not out of desperation but out of a genuine belief that it's still worth fighting for. It's a quieter, more vulnerable side of Mitchell than some of his earlier radio hits, built around a slow, heartfelt melody rather than a big pop hook.
In April 2026, he followed it up with another new single, "Hold You Up." Between the two releases, it's clear Mitchell has settled back into a steady release rhythm after a bit of a gap.
How we got here
Mitchell has already been easing back into the spotlight over the previous couple of years.
